One of the things that set Bill Cooper apart from everyone really was an unremitting conviction to shoot down in flames anyone he thought was being deceitful, irresponsible or simply wasting his time, not with the listening audience only, but with ANYONE, how many of us would have the courage of conviction to deconstruct on air a famous Hollywood producer, as was the case with Aaron Russo? It must have been incredibly difficult for Bill to deal with that betrayal as he clearly looked up to him, yet, as his confidence in his fellow man waned throughout the years, he came to learn that it was SOMETHING INSIDE OF HIM that allowed himself to be continuously tricked, he had a glaring flaw & he knew it.
So? .............There's a concept in Jungian psychology called;
'The Trickster', sometimes referred to as 'The Joker', he's the Medieval Jester, he's a 'TRUMP' card in the Tarot called 'The Fool', & is the reason we see him portrayed on film so continuously these days by people such as Caesar Romero, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger & more recently............. Alex Jones.
One of the Tricksters manifestations, & you won't believe this one, is our old friend the Devil. Isn't it strange how he keeps popping up at almost every turn with this mob? Talk of the Devil as they say. Carl Jung was a Gnostic.
They're laughing at us all the time.
'You're a man of the mountains, you can walk on the clouds,
Manipulator of crowds, you're a dream twister
You're going to Sodom & Gomorrah
But what do you care? Ain't nobody there would want to marry your sister
Friend to the martyr, a friend to the woman of shame,
You look into the fiery furnace, see the rich man without any name
Jokerman dance to the nightingale tune,
Bird fly high by the light of the moon,
Oh, oh, oh, Jokerman'
- Bob Dylan
